We’ve got some awesome shows in February and we thought we’d let you know about them!

Sister Says and myself (Gillian) will be performing a series of shows at the Talking Stick Festival in Yaletown and one on Commercial drive in Vancouver. The Talking Stick Festival is a 13 day, citywide celebration of Aboriginal performance and art. The Festival will feature diverse programming, highlighting the talents of local, national and international artists in a fusion of cabaret, music, dance, theatre and storytelling.

February 1st, Tuesday:

Sister Says performing at the opening gala of The Talking Stick Festival at the Roundhouse.

Location: Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews (Davie & Pacific)

Time: Doors open at 7pm

Show description: A night of food and entertainment. Entertainment includes traditional, contemporary, music, comedy and spoken word. The evening will feature a variety of performances including: traditional Dancers Git Hayetsk presenting masked dance, story, and song ; Vancouver’s own blues guru Murray Porter and award winning musician Digawolf.

February 13th, Sunday:

It’s the All our Relations Closing Wrap-up Party at the Talking Stick. Sister Says we’ll be featured in an intimate duo set and I’ll be featured in the house band, singing songs off of my father Jamie Thomson’s newly released album “Sessions at Bakerstreet”.

This show is a pay what you can event.

The first annual WAM! will take place on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 10 am to 5 pm each day.
